Venktesh Ramnath, MD, is a practicing physician and Associate Clinical Professor at UC San Diego Health. He serves as Medical Director of Critical Care and Telemedicine Outreach, where he oversees clinical programs that leverage both digital technologies with bedside care practices to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients at the highest standards. His research interests include Tele-ICU systems, digital health applications for inpatient and ICU care, bioethical issues in the ICU, and patient and family empowerment in the ICU.
Dr. Ramnath completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School). He completed a residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Weill Cornell Medicine) and was Chief Resident. He earned his medical degree from Mayo Clinical College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Ramnath is board-certified in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
